Welcome to Carlton!
Carlton is a small city located near the Saint Louis River and home of the Black Bear Casino. Carlton is home to just under 1,100 residents, and 21 miles Southwest of Duluth. The city of Carlton is also known for being the Gateway to Jay Cooke State Park. Carlton residents are proud supporters of the community and have local events throughout the year.
With large attractions such as Black Bear Casino and Jay Cooke State Park, there are many things to do in the Carlton area. The parks in the area, such as JCSP and Moose Lake State Park, have many hiking and biking trails available for public use, they also have many community events that take place during the warmer months. In the winter months the trails are used for snowmobiles, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing.
